What to do with time.....

Ephesians 5: 15-17

Therefore be careful how you walk not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, understand what the will of the Lord is.

What is the will of the Lord? If you are in a volnurable time in your life this question comes to mind. Volnurability looks different for all ages. For Seniors in High School they struggle with what college they should attend in the fall of '09. For adults in their 40's it could be wondering what in the world is the purpose of going to work and life is a little more than draining. For teenagers life is just about really finding out who you are and trying to get a good enough grade to get into the college of your choice while managing relationships and trying to find a job. Or sometimes you can just be doing the same ol' thing and that can make us volnurable.

God has us right where he needs us when we are volnurable however our enemy that prowls around like a roaring lion seeking to devour us can use this time too. I think this is why it's so important for us to know what the will of the Lord is. When we are busy doing what the Lord has called us to do we can know that we will have our purpose, we will be assurred that whatever college you choose He will be directing you to and will direct your steps, and you will have the confidence that the Lord will bless your efforts in school, with your family, and friends.

I have told my girls something very simple to remember to direct them and make their world seem a little more managable. It is this: "Your life is all about God, Family, Friends, and School". Do you find that life is full of things we must learn about, struggle and contend with, and give back up to the Lord? That will always be however the Lord is good to His beloved and will bless us "beyond what we could even imagine or think". I challenge you to find out what the will of the Lord is for your life. When you have found that don't waste any time. Embrase what God has shown you (even if it involves some pain) and RUN with it. Don't waste any time. It will make you into the woman or man of God that He knows you will be. Our timeless God is good....He will only show us what we need to see and work out the righteousness we can manage in His strength.

If you have seen "Chariots of Fire" you have witnessed the story of a man Eric Liddell that did just that. The thing I remember about the story though is how he ran....ha! Very unconventional with his face pointing toward the sky and his arms flapping about! People critisized him for it because he should not have been able to run that fast in that way but in the movie he explains the reason why he runs as "feeling the joy of the Lord". I urge you to "run" in that way....that you will feel and know the joy of the Lord. Jesus offers it to you.

If you can get a hold of the book: Found: God's Will by John MacArthur it will help you to know what the will of the Lord is for every believer. Here is a hint - it's the same for us all. God will direct your steps as you walk in the spirit.
